Scenes Near and Far
Dean Williams

Saturday 3rd October until Sunday 25th October 2020.

This is the second exhibition  of photographs by Dean Williams at Linhay Gallery.

A popular, Auburn (SA) photographer, well-known for his landscapes, Dean is presenting a selection of recent work.  Photographs include local scenes around Auburn and the Clare Valley, journeys along the River Murray and travels in Far North Queensland.

Dean is always searching for the ideal landscape that does not include anything man-made.  "This is sometimes quite a challenge!" he says.

Many of Dean's photographs are printed on canvas, producing a painterly style of presentation.  Some of his recent work is printed on acrylic, offering a glossy finish and the opportunity to stand the work on a surface instead of hanging.

Camera skills, not editing!
Dean's has a strong philosophy that skill with the camera is the most important aspect of photography.  He does not believe in editing or altering photographs with technology.  His camera is always at hand, ready for that opportunity to be in the right place at the right time to capture a scene in that special light, unusual weather conditions or that momentary cloud formation.

Linhay Gallery has a COVID-safe plan, so numbers are limited and visitors are expected to use hand sanitizer and sign the Contact Tracing Record upon entry to the gallery as well as keeping appropriate space between each other.

All work is for sale. Please contact the gallery if you are interested in purchasing one of the pieces.
